Our edible flower for cakes is made out of gum paste which is completely edible and dries very hard. Although they are hard, the petals are very delicate and life-like.

Properly stored, they can last for generations and you can use them over and over.  (FYI, many of our flowers are created on bendable wires, to allow us to mimic petals, so you may want to use them for keepsakes rather than for consumption).
